The games

What are Drug Lord 2 and Drug Lord 3?

They're trading strategy games. You buy goods where they're cheap, move them to where they're expensive, and try to grow a small stake into a fortune before a deadline. Along the way you deal with loan sharks, gangs, police and customs. Drug Lord 2 is the quick, classic version. Drug Lord 3 is the full game, with 26 cities, crews, vehicles, property, couriers and a rival. See Drug Lord 2 and Drug Lord 3 for details.

Are the games free?

Yes. Both games are completely free to play from start to finish. Optional Dope Dollars buy conveniences such as extra days, and you can earn them without paying (see below).

Where can I play?

In any modern browser at druglord.co.za/3 (Drug Lord 3) and druglord.co.za/2 (Drug Lord 2), on a phone, tablet or computer. Both games are also on Google Play for Android: Drug Lord 3 and Drug Lord 2.

Can I play on iPhone or iPad?

Yes, in Safari. Open druglord.co.za/3 or druglord.co.za/2, tap the Share button and choose Add to Home Screen. The game then opens full screen from its own icon, just like an app.

Which languages are supported?

Drug Lord 3 is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Drug Lord 2 is available in English, Spanish, German, Russian, French, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese.

Is this game suitable for children?

No. The games deal with crime and include cartoon violence and drug references. They are made for adults, and both open with a clear warning before you can play.

Are the prices and gangs in the game real?

No. The economy is a game system designed to be fun to trade, not a model of anything real. Prices are invented and move by game rules. Gangs, rivals, crew and loan sharks are fictional characters. Nothing in the games is information or advice about real drugs.

Saving, accounts and leaderboards

How is my game saved?

Drug Lord 3 saves automatically as you play. Your current run is stored on the device or browser you're playing on. In a browser, clearing your site data or using a private window removes it. Drug Lord 2 also offers a single-use save from its menu.

Do I need an account?

No, you can play as a guest. A free profile is needed to put your name on the leaderboards, take part in reputation challenges and keep Dope Dollars on your account. One profile signs you in to both Drug Lord 2 and Drug Lord 3. You can sign up with email, or with Google or Apple where those are offered.

How do the leaderboards work?

When a competitive run ends, a signed-in player's score is submitted to the global board. There are boards for different periods, plus a reputation board. Endless Mode runs are never ranked. You can browse the boards on the leaderboard page. Player names are filtered, and you can report an offensive name from inside the game.

I forgot my password.

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a reset link. On Android the link opens the game directly. Anywhere else, you can reset your password on the website.

How do I delete my account and data?

Use the account deletion page, or Delete Account in the Drug Lord 3 menu while signed in. One account covers both games, so deleting it removes it everywhere at once: your email address, username, password, linked Google and Apple sign-ins, Dope Dollar balance, perks, reputation and challenges. High scores, feedback and purchase receipts are kept but no longer linked to you. Receipts are kept so a purchase can't be credited twice. See the privacy policy for details.

Dope Dollars and ads

What are Dope Dollars (ÐÐ)?

Dope Dollars are the games' premium currency, shown as ÐÐ. In Drug Lord 3 they buy things like a few extra days on a run, a revive after a fatal fight, or the Endless Mode unlock. You earn them by watching optional ads and inviting friends, and you can also buy packs in the Kingpin Store. They have no value outside the games and can't be exchanged for money.

How do ads work?

Ads only play when you choose one. Wherever the game offers a reward for watching, such as two extra days, you tap to watch a short video. You get the reward when the ad finishes. If no ad is available right now, the game tells you so and you can try again later. Neither game shows banner ads or ads that interrupt play.

How does Invite Friends work?

Signed-in players have a personal invite code in Drug Lord 3. A friend who enters your code when they create a new account gets a Dope Dollar welcome bonus, and you get Dope Dollars once they start earning reputation. Each device and account can only use a code once.

I bought Dope Dollars but didn't receive them.

First, make sure you're signed in to the same profile you bought them on, and restart the game. If they still don't appear, email us with your username, the date and the receipt or order number, and we'll sort it out.

Gameplay

What is Endless Mode?

An optional Drug Lord 3 unlock that removes the day limit, and that's all it does. Nothing new unlocks, the same encounters keep cycling, and runs are never ranked. When the numbers get truly absurd (quadrillions and beyond), the game can slow down. Competitive Mode is the game as designed, and Endless is for people who just want to keep building.

Why did my run end?

Either your deadline passed before you reached the next rank, or your health hit zero. Check the rank bar on the home screen: it shows how much net worth you still need and how many days you have left. The beginner's guide covers the clock in detail.

I keep losing loads at customs. What am I doing wrong?

Heavier loads are riskier, cheap disguises don't do much, and heat from earlier busts makes security more suspicious. Buy a better disguise, carry less on each flight, ship the rest with a reliable courier, and let your heat cool for a day or two. Drug Lord 3's street report explains why each load was lost. See the logistics guide.

How do I report a bug or suggest something?

Use Feedback in the Drug Lord 3 menu, or "Message the Developer" in Drug Lord 2, or email us. Screenshots help a lot.
